Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four Grand Slams in the current campaign.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu will not compete in her final two events this season as a result of the illness she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching next year's training.

Her upcoming training are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was far from freely in the third set against Zhu due to a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after more than three years for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.

Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved 28 matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.

The British number one made the last eight of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training session scheduled late this year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she made the third stage prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
