Followers Call for Arrest of Person Who Seized Ariana Grande
Passionate supporters of Ariana Grande are demanding that a man who breached a barrier and touched the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or expelled from Singapore.
A circulating video reveals the individual from Australia bypassing photographers and rushing toward Grande while the cast made its way down a promenade surrounded by supporters.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the event by security officers.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "free after being arrested", though court documents revealed that he was set to be present on the following morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.
Record of Incidents
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram feed contains videos of him disturbing other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney concert in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last year.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is clearly a punishable act," commented an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" one Instagram user wrote.
Fans Voice Worry Over the Star's Well-being
Numerous supporters accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding hundreds.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote another message on Instagram.
Several attendees also faulted event staff at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while some requested online networks to ban Mr Wen's videos.
Aftermath and Event Details
In clips circulating online, Grande appeared shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.
Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.
Many of supporters had assembled in a crowd of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore venue, including several who had queued for as long as eight hours before it began.
The motion picture, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-film adaptation of the popular theatrical show Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely relationship between two contrasting sorceresses.
The show itself is a derivative of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.
They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful film of the previous year in the UK, and received ten award recognitions, winning several for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
