This January recruitment period proves to be a time of significant rumour and potential big-money deals. A number of high-profile players are being connected to transfers out of their present teams. Here is a look at a selection of the top figures that are poised to be changing clubs in January.

A. Semenyo

Despite Ghana's failure to qualify for the AFCON, which has left the player in contention, indications are a significant transfer is close. The 25-year-old has a deal featuring a sizeable buy-out clause active for a short window at the start of the month. Latest developments suggest the Premier League champions are now the frontrunners for his services. Despite being the side's leading goalscorer last season, Johnson has begun only a small number of Premier League matches. It is understood the London outfit would be willing to consider a transfer for the correct valuation, believed to be in the around £40 million. Bournemouth appear to be leading the chase, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace also credited with an interest.
