Rice's Brilliance Leads Arsenal to Dramatic Come-from-Behind Victory at Vitality Stadium

The league leaders' revenge tour this week has continued. After dismantling Aston Villa, it was Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth to feel the force even after being gifted an opening goal courtesy of a rare Gabriel Magalhães error.

Gabriel made amends by scoring the equalizer, before the returning midfielder marked a return from injury by netting a match-winning double as Mikel Arteta's side extended their advantage to six points.

Mikel Arteta had vowed his squad had learned from previous loss on this ground. Following a lethargic first-half, it appeared those lessons were lingering. However, a much sharper display after the interval, fueled by Rice's marauding presence, earned another league triumph and sent a message across the Premier League.

Shaky Start and Immediate Response

Earlier events meant Arsenal's cushion trimmed before kick-off. A major boost, however, was their key midfielder coming through a late fitness test. With an eye on an upcoming clash against rivals, Arteta rotated, as star wingers and Leandro Trossard among the substitutes.

Bournemouth, unchanged, saw their forward nearly make a dream start within seconds. Unexpectedly, the first goal fell to the hosts when an errant attempted ball was intercepted to the striker, who finished calmly.

The manager's ire was palpable, but his mood changed with the culprit who delivered redemption. Following lively work from Noni Madueke, the ball broke for the center-back, who fired in with his weaker foot to restore parity.

Midfielder Takes Over to Seize Control

The opening half remained a struggle for the visitors, with striker Viktor Gyökeres finding it tough while the Bournemouth forward proving a constant menace. Frustration grew at halftime, with Arteta in a heated discussion with their counterparts before departing to the dressing room.

Whatever was said at halftime worked wonders. Almost instantly after the break, a slick move involving Gyökeres and Martin Ødegaard presented a chance to Rice, who made no mistake beat the goalkeeper to complete the turnaround.

Rice had more to offer, adding a second minutes later following exquisite combination play involving Saka and Martin Ødegaard. He marked the goal affectionately to a pitchside camera, with the away side appearing in complete control.

A Tense Finish But Job Done

The home side, to their credit, summoned a late rally. Substitute Eli Junior Kroupi struck a spectacular long-range effort that flew past David Raya creating a nervous ending.

The Cherries pressed for an equalizer in the dying moments, leaving the home supporters furious as full-time sounded during one last attack. However, for the victorious team, the result was all that mattered: three more crucial points in a their championship challenge.
