The Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Astrological Sign
The comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement within the community. Starting with the gradual reveal of newcomers ahead of the game's launch, to players forming firm opinions on the entire roster of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.
Given many of the Super Forms boasting distinctive designs that emphasize their personalities, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to connect this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
The Ram – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was nearly selected for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. However, a Mega Houndoom comes across as always furious, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, known for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. This makes Aries far more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when angered. Stay on the good side of either and enjoy a strong ally; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its regular and Mega form, has aided many players in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the creature and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position to the end. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, however, is its unabashed love of snacks. Many past official descriptions note their craving for sweet tree sap and how it employs its horn to collect it everything, which is pure Taurus energy.
Gemini – Mega Medicham
Observe this total queen. It's impossible to convince me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, providing an endless stream of chatter to those who wants to listen. Much like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Mega Medicham captivating an whole open area with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to predict an enemy’s future actions, which sounds very like a people-smart Twins.
Cancer – Super Manectric
The Crab is widely considered as the most sensitive sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol known for often becoming wrapped up in their emotions. According to the official info, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of energy, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. This Pokémon is also recognized for its capability to create a storm cloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their good time.
Leo – Super Starmie
Oh, did you think I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Besides the fact that it would be far too obvious, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too glamorous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple sea star, and that’s exactly the identical energy a Lion offers to the scene. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting signals from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a show, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol famous for being endearingly critical is strongly reflected across this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a always shocked face like a Virgo when you inform them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down face that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a plan.
The Scales – Mega Audino
Observe this gentle, empathetic creature, who uses the sensors on its ears to tell how others are emotionally by their heartbeat. Consistently empathetic – occasionally to a fault – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are many Scales who would likely appreciate Super Audino's skills. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them stress more about others.
Scorpio – Super Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Discarded as a doll, it became sentient through sheer hatred and vowed revenge on its former owner. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpio adores cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly staging a show. Being a Archer myself, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “playful small jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its description even mentions how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer counterpart I can think of.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to predict calamities ahead of time? That gives the exact same vibe as a Goat, who often always believe they’re right. The thing is, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute first Super Form that players meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
Aloof air sign Aquarius is possibly the non-flame placement that is most like a fire sign – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Spirit/Flame category matches seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall daunting presence is also very Aquarius. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Mega’s description says it “absorbs hatred and transforms it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
